And now it’s Washington’s turn!

In the Senate race, with all the counties dropping their first batch of votes (like California, votes will be dribbling in for a while), Maria Cantwell is way out in front with over 55% of the vote to 24% for GOoPer Susan Hutchison. The rest is scattered among 27 other candidates, with the third place guy being GOoPer Keith Swank at 2.34%, so the Senate matchup is set.

In the interesting House races, Jaime Herrera Beutler in WA-3 only leads Democrat Carolyn Long 41 to 37 percent, with all Democrats totaling 50.4% of the vote. (Our Revolution-endorsed Dorothy Gasque blew a Gasquet, as she’s in 5th place with under 5% of the vote.) Over in WA-5, Cathy McMorris Rodgers, the GOP’s #4 in the House, has just 47.5% of the vote and a 525-vote lead on Democrat Lisa Brown, although all the other candidates are either GOoPers or a “Trump Populist,” so she might have a bit of breathing room. And to replace the retiring Dave Reichert in WA-8, Dino Rossi has 43% of the vote while the three pursuing Democrats total 49%, with Kim Schrier holding a narrow lead for second place. So all three of these seats should be very much in play in November.

(Oh, and for whoever it was in WA-9, Adam Smith has just over 50% of the vote, Dave Basler 27% and local BernieSis Sarah Smith 23%.)
