So now the goalposts have moved to “if we end up with less than 200 000 dead bodies we’re in great shape!”.

Kind of scares me to think where they’ll end up next.

They only move if we allow them. Trump’s botched response will be on him no matter what the number turns out to be, because he could have made it lower for both the US and the world. If he hadn’t pulled the person in China out, the Chinese government would have been forced to act sooner. If he hadn’t been denying it here, we would have responded sooner.
