The one thing I’ve not been able to figure out with Trump on foreign policy is whether his ceding power to China is intentional or simply a byproduct of his incompetence. I mean, if you wanted to give China more power on the world stage, isn’t this basically the way you’d do it while promoting a psuedo-isolationist foreign policy? Then again, he clearly has no understanding of the dynamics at play within the international system, so it could just be total incompetence.

I think it’s total incompetence. He wants to be dictator of America, mainly so he can stuff his bank account and pay off his debts. Being responsible to the rest of the world is way too complicated since he can’t even be responsible to the citizens of his own country.
