Some have been saying that Hitchens has “blood on his hands.” Ergo, throw out the baby with the bath water because they speak of the Iraq War. Interesting because Hitchens had a rather large body of work. Also interesting because I know that some of my other heroes or admirable men could be seen as having blood on their hands: JFK, LBJ and even Eisenhower. According to this logic many of them should stop referring to Eisenhower’s “military-industrial-complex” speech.

I dumped Hitch myself when he went pro Iraq war, which I found to be an idiotic position. But it was surprising to me, because I already had been reading him for years.

To these others, they’ll use any excuse to come up with reasons to exclude and excommunicate - I can’t stand that crud. I tell folx ll the time, hey, I might as well go back to Fundagelical U. for that kind of behavior. I see little difference.
