So, I just had had a FB conversation with a guy who claim that not only did the North have more slaves, they didn’t care for them as well as the South.

Discuss. Or don’t. It hurts my head to think that I have to share this country with assholes like this.

Has anyone heard of this specific hot take before?

There are census data going back to 1790 for all states that enumerated the free and enslaved blacks in every state. I haven’t checked this for accuracy, but that guy is full of shit.
