So the father who owned the gun used by his son which resulted in the death of the son and now the girl at the school who the son shot in the head…I wonder how that feels. Was it worth getting that gun? It didn’t serve as self-protection for this family. Or for the dead girl’s family.

i think it misses an important point we can keep making
it’s not whether it was worth getting the gun (to me)
it’s whether it was worth being lazy, possibly careless and reckless storing and controlling it
its not “the family’s” gun. it’s your gun. you and you alone are responsible for losing your 100% total control over it
