I think people are just going to have to think about that more than they have. “If you don’t like that the GOP is planning on cutting all funding for special education, then maybe you shouldn’t vote for them.” (In quotes so that you know it’s not meant to be directed at you.)

My daily warning: The real problem is that you can get a majority in the Senate through states representing less than 20% of the population. This is a poison that will destroy us — a large majority of the population can support these programs, but thanks to the Constitution, this does not matter at all in the Senate. Indeed, theoretically only 10% of the total population could have voted for these miscreants but they are in charge. And in the House, thanks to gerrymandering, theoretically you can have a minority of the population (not 10% — maybe about 31%) running the institution, even if there isn’t voter suppression.
