It might be true, we don’t know, there just weren’t any verifiable details.

/it’s common knowledge that the government doesn’t want the banks to repay the TARP funds quickly because of the capitalization implications and stigma on banks who can’t quickly repay the funds, but the government refusing to accept repayment is a whole ‘nother news cycle entirely
