Funny thing is, I totally forgot to bang the pots and pans to scare off the dragon that was swallowing the sun but it left anyway. I guess I should be grateful to those who remembered.

There was a lunar eclipse sometime during my childhood, and because the Stick Pile was ready to burn off, we actually did this - bonfire, banging pots and pans together, etc. The local cop dropped by because somebody’d called him that there were people dancing around a fire over at the Smiths’.
