Canceling those bilateral meetings with a few of them did not help Trump’s standing with the leaders at all. He somehow expects everyone to kowtow to him and the USA because MAGA! but that ship sailed long ago. The USA might have been regarded as first among equals before Trump took office. Now it’s an also-ran, an economic powerhouse with dwindling geopolitical influence. The UK will soon join that club, minus the economic powerhouse part.
