At a New Year’s Day party yesterday, I spoke to 2 acquaintances, Democrats who are both academics about 2020. They were shocked at my disdain for Bernie though they agreed that he was too old. They are both white (as though that is a surprise!)

It shocks local Dems when I call out Bernie’s racism - I think it’s almost like a White privilege issue. But I have an Asian son and I’m touchy about it.
