Not only that, but it directly put a lot of black NYT employees, journos, columnists, etc. at risk, by not just approving of, but demanding an escalation of the kind of heavy handed police and military presence that’s already seeing countless numbers of journalists covering the protests in harms way, as well as at risk of death, not even counting the civilian protestors that will be violently suppressed at all.

It’s using the argument of free speech to promote a screed demanding the absolute suppression of free speech, among other constitutional violations. And if you take AG Sulzberger’s word on it, they explicitly endorse editorials by editing and publishing them. They’re openly defending the piece as’ “accurate” and “good faith”.

NYT is absolutely in the deep fucking wrong here.
