When my brother registered for the draft, he wanted to completely drop his middle name, no initial or anything. He ended up with three initials, “NMN” for “No Middle Name”.

The military bureaucracy … it just amazes me.
I came across my Dad’s military records, after he died.
They tested him for everything under the sun, it seems.
He had like zero mechanical ability.
I found that particularly interesting, because my entire life, my Dad never worked with a piece of machinery (even something as simple as a door lock) - he fought with it. It was an amazing thing to watch him try to unlock a door, or mow a lawn …
