Yeah, campaigning like that probably wouldn’t change a lot of minds here.

The majority of my village board is atheists. Most of the employees have been lesbians since I moved here (really).

You know? Most of us aren’t bigots out here. At least in my town, I only know one who is an open bigot (and he lost to me).

I think I need to retire from the conversation. This is the going the same way it always to seems to. (Those people are bigots, we tried to tell them, why should we campaign in rural areas, &c &c &c).

Maybe I really am in the wrong party. I’ll bet if I flipped to the Libertarians they would take a call or E-mail from me. (I’ll be clear: I’m not interested in the Libertarians. I am interested in a Democratic Party that is interested in representing the whole country. Including “those people.”

And you always close out the same way too. People also give you suggestions as to what you could try…I note you never mention it. BeachDem has tried very patiently to give you ideas, you seem to pass them off as being no hope or not the magic in a bottle you are looking for.

Somewhere in all this happening again and again for you is a message.

At the very least give the others here the credit that we understand you are in a tough position in Nebraska.
