That’s huge. David Frum makes a good point about a Commission being preferable to a Special Prosecutor - the latter works largely outside the public view. We’d never know till the end what they found. A Commission, OTOH, holds public hearings. And America knowing how deep the rabbit hole is is more important than tossing a couple Trump aides in jail.

A commission is probably more difficult for the Republicans to obstruct, but as I recall the last time we had a Special Prosecutor, the entire ‘investigation’ was conducted entirely in the media (Ken Starr’s Whitewater witch hunt).
