Yep. TBH the GOP hasn’t had a nominee that grew up in America’s middle class since Bob Dole.

McCain may not have come from a middle class family but he was not born to wealth; he may have married into it but I would give a pass to someone who grew up in a military family and pursued that as a career. Whatever his flaws are — and they are many — he went to VietNam while Cadet Bone Spurs and many others were chicken hawks.
