My Rover has a hand-crank. I’ve used it twice—once for a test, and once in need. It’s kind of tricky, requiring a reset of the distributor to retard the spark, and the grip is important if you don’t want a broken wrist.

I recall watching an old episode of Top Gear where the lads went to some auto museum, and checked out an antique vehicle the curators had nicknamed “The Breaker” or something. Since they had owned it, its toll was up to three wrists and two arms…..

I guess that explains the clip I saw on the news where the door of the shul flew open, and people came barrelling out (followed by Akram waving his gun): Someone Up There must have been looking out for the good rabbi and his peeps: I’m somewhat surprised the cops didn’t open fire immediately (or were they expecting a breakout??).
