Don’t get me started on the sugar-spirit versus white lightnin’ dispute. Sugar spirit AIN’T moonshine; it’ll get the job done, but it’s cheating, and is low-class.

I recall when a fairly and discretely famous moonshiner one county over fro where I grew up got busted. It was a subject of general dismay and concern when his still was destroyed, as even the State Police and ATF local agents agreed it was one of the best, most beautiful stills they’d ever seen. Man made damned fine corn liquor, took pride in his work, and had a waiting list for each run.
