Imagine if Obama talked about that. The militia types would ammo up and disappear.

I remember that Bush wanted to place state National Guard militias under direct Federal control and not under that of the repsective state governors - a clear repudiation of the Second Amendment - and nobody saw an existential threat to our democracy there.
