It is an examination about whether sheer numbers of sentient beings should be taken into consideration when making ethical decisions about allocating resources, saving lives, etc.

It’s very interesting, and he makes quite a good argument that the numbers do not count, that human beings are not reducible in that manner.

I recommend it. I don’t endorse the conclusions absolutely, but I do feel it’s a point of view with some merit.

If history has taught us anything, its when resources become scarce, human life’s value drops dramatically.
