The statistics are overwhelming that keeping guns around the house makes the inhabitants less safe, not more safe. The people who try to sell the notion that guns make your family safer have to rely on anecdotes for their argument, not facts or data.

Its similar to the person who knew someone years ago who died in a car accident because they were wearing their seat belt and they might have lived if they weren’t wearing the belt, so now they are convinced seat belts are dangerous.

“My buddy’s grandfather lived to be 92 and he smoked like a chimney! How can that be if cigarettes kill you?!”
