Lieberman wasn’t a bad choice, really. Kind of a sad sack, Droopy Dog guy, but not the crazy fuck he turned out to be. No Joe Biden, though.

Gore would have done a lot better if 1) he hadn’t run away from Clinton’s record; 2) he were likeable, or even vaguely human; 3) the Press had any scruples. That ‘serial exaggerator’ stuff was largely bullshit, but it made a great story.

Of course, he actually DID win the election, unless you believe an enclave of emigre New York Jews is a hotbed of support for Buchanan.
