I think slipcovers are harder than upholstery. A slipcover actually has to fit, whereas with true upholstery there isn’t a whole lot of sewing, you cut the fabric approximately to size and staple it to the frame. Reupholstering is scarier though, since you need to take all the fabric off. There is no going back. Whereas with a slipcover, you still have all the original stuff intact underneath the new slipcover.
Unfortunately this reupholstery I’m doing now is closer to a slipcover (except that I can’t take it off again, but the “bucket” seat doesn’t have anything to attach fabric to-I’m just sewing something that fits over the shape and then it gets tied through the back and bottom of the foam.

This is the slipcover I made before. Damn proud of that since did I mention I hate to sew? Which means I do very little of it (though my mom made sure I learned how) but I do watch HGTV. It’s just pin, sew, pin, sew, pin… seemingly forever. This time I got fabric that isn’t quilted so it will hopefully be easier but damn, I really hate to sew. LOL
