The tree surgeon in Bayard just called; he is on the way to my house to inspect our elm tree to see what needs to be done. (A significant portion of the tree overhanging our backyard is dead.)

He previously trimmed the tree for us a couple years ago where it overhung the street between our house and the church, noting that the low portion of the tree hanging over our backyard would probably need attention.

The tree was planted the same year the house was built (1914) and is the largest tree in my town.
