That’s the thing people need to keep in mind when they wonder why Dems can’t get anything done in the Senate. It’s not a matter of lack of will. It’s that there’s literally no margin of error. Not with a GOP that is willing to reflexively draw party lines before anything is even put to paper.

And sadly, we see that it’s a situation that allows egotists like Manchin to take advantage of the situation and hold the party hostage, because they literally can’t afford to alienate him before 2022. And the fucker is milking it for all its worth so he can get his time as The Most Important Man In America.

And as maddening as Manchin is, thank dog he is in the Senate, because if he wasn’t, the Senator from WV would be a rabid Trump humper, and absolutely no legislation would’ve passed, or have any prospect of passing, and no Biden nominees to federal courts would be confirmed.
