It’s a parade of grotesquery.

We Americans have all grown up knowing deep down that there is a nasty streak of bigotry & racism writhing just under the skin of our society, but through a combination of wishful thinking and social unacceptability we’ve been able to convince ourselves that the tentacles that occasionally poked through the scabs on the surface were all that remained.

The far right has now ripped off all the scabs, effectively removing the taboo and allowing the nastiness to slither out into the unforgiving daylight in all its depravity. Now we can no longer pretend that it’s just an occasional problem and have to confront it. It’s a huge problem, a shameful, malignant poison that we MUST find a cure for if we hope to continue successfully evolving as a nation.

QFT. No compromise is possible with this.

Either this ideology gets consigned to the dustbin of history, or it triumphs.
