Riddle me this:

How can anyone be so quick to denounce the shah of Iran while defending Syrian President Bashar al-Assad? Last I checked, Bashar’s brutality far exceeds that of the shah, not to mention the body count, so how can one defend him while denouncing the other?

Or the fact that al-Assad is a Shiite allied with Iran?
