Snopes debunks a Breitbart claim that Donald Trump won an overwhelming majority of counties in the election.

snopes.com

Breitbart claims Mr. Trump won 3.084 of the nation’s 3.141 counties. That statement is patently false, and Breitbart is using the claim to peddle the idea that Mr. Trump took a majority of the popular vote.

A county by county count is meaningless anyway. New York County (Manhattan) has a population of 1.63 million people and a density of over 70,000 per square mile; Los Angeles County has over 9,800,000 people with a density of 2,100 per square mile.

By comparison, my county (Morrill County, NE) has 5,042 people, and a density of 3.5 per square mile. By size, Morrill County is one-quarter of Los Angeles County.

Breitbart is trying to equate counties such as mine to New York and Los Angeles Counties to claim that Mr. Trump got the majority of the popular vote.

Why, it’s almost as if Breitbart are completely lacking in any kind of honesty! Or math skills.
