re: #23 JordanRules

(Concerning allegation a general in the Army has stopped recruiting as reported by Mic.

Navy Recruiter hat pulled out of retirement and dusted off.

a) The idea that a civilian employee would overrule civilian law seems exceptionally unlikely to me.
b) The idea that a civilian employee’s staff would release a statement with a decorative apostrophe in it seems unlikely to me (I suppose there could be an error, but that also seems unlikely)
c) The photo of the alleged message has no source
d) No one else is reporting this other than Mic.
e) The Army Citizenship Requrements Page on its recruiting Website has not been updated if this is so. The second item in the list refers to green card holders being allowed.
f) There is no mention of this policy in Army Times (though that is not definitive proof)
g) There is no mention of this policy in Stars and Stripes (though that is not definitive proof either)

Mr. Williamson’s title (CIV NG) is “civilian, working for the National Guard.” There is a transmission from Mr. Williamson working for the New Jersey National Guard in 2015 regarding a regulation that has nothing to do with this. He is not shown as staff for the NJ Guard or Army on either Website.

Looks like a punt of this article at Mic to Snopes for them to check. I can’t find diddly of this supposed order (and civilians do not make policy for the Army except the Secretary of the Army).
