re: #159 Sir John Barron
Best news they’ve heard in a month, what with all these pesky students marching and talking on the TV, and the whatever in Austin.

Well, other than maybe being able to be hyped up as a distraction (like almost anything: I agree with your assessment), reading the account of the incident in Trèbes, France; it was a nasty, if unremarkable terrorist attack.
(A Moroccan IS-loyal nut ran amok with guns, killed a couple of people in nearby Carcassonne*, carjacked a vehicle and drove to Trèbes where he took hostages at a supermarket demanding the release of another terrorist. Didn’t work, though: the police swarmed in and - eventually - shot and killed him.)
Awful and tragic-for-the-victims as it is, it was no different from a lot of incidents in France (and less-bloody than most): but I supposed that indulging in a paroxysm of Muslim-bashing makes the day for a whole of wingers….
* I’ve been there: it’s a big tourist draw in southern France: I wonder why the terrorist didn’t shoot it up more?
