During World War I, the famous Rolls-Royce armored cars used by T.E. Lawrence and others required support vehicles with equal endurance and reliability. Rolls-Royce tenders, basically utility trucks, were the solution. This included both open (pickup) and closed (panel truck) version. There were also Rolls-Royce ambulances.
