The WHCA is basically setting themselves up for the worst face-plant since ‘07, when they decided that Stephen Colbert “went too far” and then pulled in a very unfunny Rich Little to bore the fuck out of the audience. Bringing in a author to opine about…what? That Donny isn’t that bad a president? And then the inevitable “Donny Tries Comedy” moment where he basically stands up and rants at the “fake news media” to the dead silence of the audience? And then all the lip-biting and moaning about how uncouth he was to attack the media after they tried to make nice with him?

All because they didn’t like the fact that they got dragged for being his lapdogs. Oy vey.

Chernow is a great historian. I don’t know his leanings but they really screwed this up. But yeah this seems like the same aftermath of how the Bush administration got butthurt by Stephen mocking them and then brought Rich Little out. Michelle Wolf’s bit last year looks more and more spot on by them not having a comedian this year. Trump is an overly sensitive brat who shouldn’t be in this position if he’s going to bitch about every mocking and criticism he gets.
