If you look at the tone of these Trump supporter puff pieces, they’ve changed as the media’s narrative about him has changed.

In the beginning, they were largely “Trump can’t be this bad guy, look at the nice folks who support him!”

Then, when the legal troubles began, it was “Well sure, he has some issues, but these folks are sticking by him!”

The the shit-pile deepened and we heard “Who cares if he’s not perfect, these folks in Shitberg, PA continue to support him because he shows he cares about them!”

Now that he’s effectively been neutered through the midterms and Mueller’s investigation, we’re hearing “These folks are starting to question voting for him, but they still think it was the right choice!”

The media seems to be working out their guilt over the way they handled 2016 through these interviews. If the current trajectory continues, we’ll see “Yeah, we should have known better, but it seemed like a good idea at the time!” articles by year’s end.
