When you look at the fact that 60-70% of college instructors are adjunct (basically the gig economy for higher education), college administrators were similar to chicken plant bosses before covid.
When I was an adjunct, my pay was generally $1200 per semester/class. Generally worked out to about $7200 a year for 12 hours/week in class instruction, plus prep work, grading and office hours.
Yeah…minor leagues with no chance for tenure (and a real salary) without a PiledHigher&Deeper.
