You know, I might be a severely lapsed Catholic, but it still irritates me somewhat when people get “our” doctrines wrong. Papal infallibility is probably the second-most misunderstood concept, after the immaculate conception.

As for Papa Ratzi being a Nazi…. look, I really don’t like the guy, but he was fucking 14. And yes, membership in the Hitler Youth was indeed mandated by law.

It’s NB(F)D that the pope was a Nazi kid. It’s more telling that he was chosen from among 209 cardinals by a conclave that largely lived through the Nazi era.
