Suburbs used to have train, (or trolley) service. Nowadays, some don’t have bus service or cabs.

Maybe the very early “suburbs” around Chicago did, for example. However, today they are called the “inner suburbs” because these areas are right next to the major city limits, and the outer suburbs stretch on for quite a many miles.
