re: #151 Quoth the raven, Covfefe.

As a resident of flyover country, I’ve had rabbit stew. It’s certainly not exotic to me, but you’re right in that you won’t see it on a restaurant menu anywhere nearby. It was something a rural hunter friend made for us when he hosted us for dinner.

Mom cooked rabbit only once. We had dinner in our living room and afternoon cartoons were playing on the TV. I was only 3 years old, didn’t know what the meat was but I thought it tasted different. Then a Bugs Bunny cartoon came on and Dad just got evil by saying, “You know what you’re eating, Joey? You’re EATING BUGS BUNNY!”

I remember reeling in horror and I ran to my room crying. Dad came up to try and cool me down but I couldn’t stop crying yelling at him for killing Bugs Bunny!

Mom let Dad have it. Rabbit was never served in our house again.
