I had been suspecting that for a couple months. We were going nowhere and I was already halfway out the door.

Back in 2002 I was extremely upset by Bush’s rush to war. I knew it would turn out to be a disaster, as did anyone who knew shit. Therapist said “Think about the French farmer just standing in his field as the Nazi tanks come across the border. What can he do?” I replied “not much”. That image helped me realize that I didn’t have much power to change events. Still using it today.
