The oligarchy of which Putin is the head is deeply connected worldwide to other billionaires.

I have no idea how many GOP Senators are on the Russian gravy train, but I suspect it is not many.

The weaselly gaggle of GOP Senators are mostly out for themselves and their buddies. Not all of them will have ties to the petro-lords in Russia.

For the GOP, the fundamental truth is that they are now the repository of so many backwards movements in America. The party has become a catch-all for know-nothings and theocrats, and now serves only those at the top of the economic hierarchy.

The war industry loves this kind of stuff, and I suspect many a GOP elected official cares more about using nationalism to secure re-election than anything else.
