Watching the reactions to the Trump/Russia/CIA news today, I can’t help thinking that the ground on the right has been perfectly prepared for this. Large swaths of the Right simply reject it out of hand, because they don’t want to believe it and they’ve had 40 years of their leaders telling them that anyone who tells them what they don’t want to believe is lying.

For many of them, admitting the left is right about something may as well be admitting that Al Queda or the Soviet Union was right. Their leaders have programmed them to think any thing left of Reagan is UnAmerican.
