the democrats have a deep bench. there’s a large group of people who want to and think they can be president.

the r’s have only 1. what’s wrong with the r’s? they don’t even have one other person?

The GOP had 17 people last time — and we ended up with Trump. Yes, except for Tulsi and Bernie, our candidates are better than theirs BUT they did have many with serious experience, while Trump was the only one with a cult following. If we have 15 people running and Bernie keeps getting 15% while nobody else gets more than 10%, so Bernie acquires the plurality — and when candidates drop out and endorse someone else, the BernieBros will go ballistic. We have to assume that those supporting Bernie in 2020 are a lost cause.
