What we have here is a basic division of what is considered funny in right wing humor and non-right wing humor. Right wing America humor is the equivalent of one schoolyard bully pushing and tripping the target victim over a secretly crouching 2nd schoolyard bully.

Right wing humor is based on the denigration and often proposed elimination of entire groups of human beings based on their skin color, national origin, ethnicity, language, or religious affiliation… anything considered “the Other.”

Like…non-right wing humor isn’t always about punching upward (hell, a lot of it is about punching inward), but right wing humor almost always, necessarily, seems to be about punching downward.
