I totally sympathize with people who are opposed to abortion. I’m a pesca-vegetarian, and the taking of any life is abhorrent to me. I used to be enthusiastically pro-choice, but these days, I think I would want to restrict abortions in cases when the pregnancy was obviously pretty darn close to 8 or 9 months. What I don’t understand is why many people, apparently mostly Republicans, are so vehemently opposed to all abortion, and at the same time are not enthusiastically promoting CONTRACEPTION. Because of the stakes involved, this goes beyond logical incoherence, and all the way to severe immorality. It also makes no sense that these Republicans also say they want to reduce government spending. It really should be very clear to all that if the government goes back into the business of restricting all abortions, this will cost money.
