The fact of the matter is companies would and could pay their employees more if less were concerned with giving their executives generous bonuses. i’m okay with bonuses and I don’t think that they should be prohibited but you can’t just use a big chunk of your profits to give a bonus to someone who’s already gotten a ton. Use that money to hire more employees for better wages and everyone wins in the end. Some would call this socialism. Others will call what it is,, a more practical approach to what Smith actually wrote about.
