I think back to the day Richard Nixon resigned, and I think, ‘It can happen here!’

Then I remember it was Nixon’s second term, and I think, ‘It can’t happen fast enough here!’

Nixon ended up having to resign because he was facing impeachment followed by conviction in the Senate as a result of losing the support of some Senate Republicans.

Since then, the US Right has dealt with this ‘country over party’ problem thoroughly.
