Tides are more or less uniform, they play fair…all boats go up or down the same amount no matter how big they are

The economy is an unfair tide lifting some boats more and some less based on their size and other influences

This doesn’t even get into that fact that other boats (or the tide Masters) are actively and aggressively trying to sink yours

The rising tide metaphor, I usually respond to with ‘ok, so what happens when you can’t afford a fucking boat? And the ones who own the boats tell you that you deserve to drown because you couldn’t afford one?”
