I think I also need to get some friends where I could meet occasionally just because. As much as I like being here, I feel like I actually need to start seeing people with my own eyes and hear voices and especially laughter.

Are you close enough to Dallas to go to their comic-con and similar events? People of all ages, panels and/or parties and/or hospitality suites broken down into very specific fandoms, etc.
