When walking home from the bank this afternoon, I listened to a youtube compendium of Reagan humor while he was in the WH. He may not have been a good person and many of our problems started with him, but he was charming with the appropriate temperament for the Presidency and the ability to work with others, even those who did not share his views. He was a conservative with a real sense of humor and, in personality, nothing at all like Trump or the radicals who infest the GOP today.

He was an actor. Of course, he could present that fantasy while shredding the constitution and setting up the long-term destruction of America. Make no mistake, he was as radically reactionary as any of them today. Just look at his Neshoba County Fair “states’ rights” speech just down the road from where the three civil rights workers were murdered for the real Reagan.
