Would be a strategic mistake. In the end, the Secretary of State doesn’t make policy but instead is part of the larger foreign policy of the Whitehouse. There are plenty of candidates who would make for a good secretary. Sacrificing Kerry for a 4 year stint as SoS wouldn’t make sense. Kerry is only 69. This would also mean that Mass could lose Kerry for good. Remember that Mass also went Republican before with Scott Brown.
