When you’re rich, it’s not “theft” it’s “embezzlement”. It’s much easier to call someone a thief than it is to call them an embezzler. It likely has to do with the fact that “thief” is an easy, single syllable word. Whereas embezzler is a three syllable word. For whatever reason, when we speak, we tend towards simpler words. They are easier to communicate and to understand.
